Galil Ace Stock Adapter

Description

Compatible with ACE-brand stocks and folding mechanisms, the KNS Precision Galil Ace Stock Adapters are manufactured with a ‘pocket’ for use with ACE brand stocks/folding mechanisms WITH the boss. While the KNS adapter can be used with stocks and folding mechanisms that do not have the boss – it is highly recommend that stocks and folding mechanisms with the boss are used, strength is increased and play is decreased with the boss. Installation is easy with a wide variety of stock/folding pistol brace mechanism options as well as for building registered SBRs.

 

With ACE part # A510 ( http://riflestocks.com/store/a510.html ), any AR15 compatible buffer tube may be used. The Galil ACE stock adapter is also compatible with Galil ACE rifles. When choosing a folding mechanism, make sure to pick one that can be configured to fold to the -RIGHT SIDE- of the firearm to avoid interfering with charging handle. Installation instructions:

 

Make certain weapon is unloaded, the magazine has been removed, and the chamber is empty.

 

Instructions for single roll pin receivers:

 

Remove top cover, recoil spring, and bolt group according to original manufacture’s owners manual. Drive out the roll pin in rear of receiver that retains the receiver endplate from either direction. Remove factory receiver rear plate and install KNS stock adapter in it’s place with the oval recessed pocket facing towards the rear of the firearm. Reinstall roll pin from either direction so that it is flush with the outside of the receiver.

 

Instructions for double roll pin receivers:

 

Remove top cover, recoil spring, and bolt group according to original manufacture’s owners manual. Drive out the top roll pin in rear of receiver that retains the receiver endplate from either direction. Remove the two lower roll pins by driving them towards the inside of the firearm. Remove factory receiver rear plate and install KNS stock adapter in it’s place with the oval recessed pocket facing towards the rear of the firearm. Reinstall long roll pins (additional long roll pin provided) from either direction so that it is flush with the outside of the receiver.

 

Mounting Holes:

 

The KNS adapter has four 10-32 threaded holes to use for mounting Ace products, but only two are needed at any one time. Depending on whether the host weapon is double pin or single pin – one set of 10-32 threaded holes will be intersected by a roll pin. Simply choose the set of threaded holes that are not intersected by the pin – or – shorten the mounting screws by 1/16” to be able to use either set of 10-32 threaded holes.

 

Instructions for adhesive:

 

Included in the kit is a packet of silicon-based adhesive. This adhesive can be used to take up any play in the adapter/receiver interface in the same manner as the factory. Simply apply several small dabs of adhesive to lower corners and sides of the KNS stock adapter, slide the adapter into place, wipe away any excess adhesive, and let cure overnight. Removal of the adapter is not difficult as the adhesive acts more as a filler than a bonding agent, and will peel off without trouble.
